Denise Campbell Artist Talk

EVENT: Saturday 5 April Denise Campbell Artist Talk "Edgelands" commencing at 10.30.

Last days Denise Campbell exhibition Edgelands, closing Saturday 5 April at 2pm. Gallery open today and Friday 10.30 to 4 and Saturday 10 to 2.

An exhibition very worthy and relating mostly to the Central Plateau of Tasmania in the Shannon and Waddamana area of the Hydro Scheme where Denise grew up.
Although a twenty year survey exhibition Denise states:-

In the most recent series of paintings and prints (loosely based around the central highlands) collage and mixed media are used instinctively, making images that pull in and out of focus the small details and the broader views; shifting light, subtle nuances of colour, marks blurred and vanishing, fleeting perceptions, and visual sensations.
Gathering aspects that are folded in; new appears to be layered on old and where surfaces are scratched or scarred, a hidden history is revealed before reaching their final recognizable or abstract forms.
